Good email etiquettes





Reading and relying:

ü  Use proper structure & layout
ü  Scan all messages before replying
ü  Read the email before you send it
ü  Use uppercase only for emphasis or titles
ü  Use a signature that includes contact information


                                
Sending E-mails
ü  Consider cultural differences
ü  Double check before hitting the send button
ü  Address your contact with the appropriate level of formality and make sure you spelled their name correctly.
ü  Be sure the Subject: field accurately reflects the content of your email

Formatting emails
ü  Use graphic highlighting to improve the readability of longer messages  use bulleted listings, subheadings, introductory summary
ü  Always end your emails with "Thank you," "Sincerely," "Take it easy," "Best regards"
ü  Stay away from fancy fonts, only the standard fonts are on all computers.
ü  Avoid typing in all small cases because it gives an indication of lack of education or laziness
